Shut Up & Write!® in Düsseldorf (in person)

Come along, grab a coffee, shut up, and write! We will do at least two sessions of each 45 minutes of writing and two breaks. We will start the first writing session at 18:15.

For space reasons, we are limited to a certain number of attendees, so please update your RSVP if you can't come. We are typically in the cafeteria.

If you are new, come and say hello, as we know that suddenly going quiet for 45 minutes and staring at that blank page can be intimidating when it's your first time. We have a lot of long-term regulars who will be happy to help you feel welcome.

And for those who don't believe in Google Maps, here's a step by step guide to your writing spot:

Step 1: Take the main exit of Düsseldorf Hauptbahnhof — the one facing the city. If you see the VHS building, you’ve taken the wrong exit. Abort mission. Re-enter the station and try again.

Step 2: Once outside the correct exit, cross the square (Konrad-Adenauer-Platz) and head slightly right. You’re looking for the sleek glass building called KAP1 — you can’t miss it, it’s practically winking at you.

Step 3: Inside KAP1, the library is on the right. But if you’re hunting caffeine first (respect), the cafeteria is on the 2nd floor. Follow the coffee cup signs or just the word “Cafeteria”. Walk past the library entrance, straight down the hall — cafeteria’s on the left at the end.
