Join Leanna and other writers for 120 minutes of writing! We’ve discovered that it’s strikingly helpful to write with other writers. See if it’s true for you at 2:30 pm on Saturday afternoons.

Be it a book, blog, script, essay, dissertation, resume, melody, poem or just plain work stuff, you are invited to write it with us.

No one will see what you've written or give you unsolicited advice. Instead of just thinking about writing, come and get some real writing done.

SCHEDULE:
2:30 - Quick introductions
2:40 - Timer starts: write for 120 minutes
4:25 - Check outs--How did it go?

OPTIONAL SOCIALIZING happens at 4:30 pm. Writing is very solitary. Connecting (and sometimes even commiserating) with other writers is a cool thing.

BEING LATE IS OKAY: just pull up and start writing, then check-in with us after the session. If you were on time, please be willing to make room for friendly latecomers.

What Should I Bring?

Whatever you need to be able to write! I recommend a fully charged laptop, if possible. There may be chargers available, depending on seating location.
Bring earbuds/earplugs if you want to block the noise/conversation by other patrons. There are children's programs and clubs that can get quite rowdy, at times. Please keep that in mind.

Other Important Details: The library has free wifi. If you're unsure how to connect, just ask.

TRAVEL / PARKING:
*There is street parking or underground parking .
*There's also a bus stop nearby at Victoria and Albert (outside of Bastion Pizza and across the street). Also, the main transit hub is at Port Place Centre.

SEATING INFORMATION: This week, we will be meeting in the Medium Meeting Room, 2nd Floor. The meeting rooms are directly in front of you when you come up the stairs. Look for a whiteboard by the door that says SHUT UP AND WRITE. You can always check with the staff at the desk to the right if you’re not sure where to go.

I will be there 5-10 minutes early to get the room unlocked.

* Going forward, we’re going to discuss what we are planning to do, as we’re unable to consistently book meeting rooms on Saturdays for the next few months. We will be discussing at the upcoming meeting what are options are.
