Welcome to Norwich Shut Up & Write!

Join us for an hour of writing! We’ve discovered that it’s strikingly helpful to write with other writers. See if it’s true for you at midday on Sundays.

Be it a book, blog, script, essay, dissertation, resume, melody, poem or just plain work stuff, you are invited to write it with us. No one will see what you've written or give you unsolicited advice. Instead of just thinking about writing, come and get some real writing done.

SCHEDULE:

12:00 - Quick introductions

12:05 - Timer starts: write for 1 hour

13:05 - The End: chat, take off, or keep writing

If you would like to stick around for some social time after, that is always welcome.

We meet in the main part of the pub - often near to the TV. You will likely see a group of people with laptops and notepads when you walk in, as well as a sign.

What Should I Bring?

• Whatever you need to be able to write!
• Bringing earbuds/earplugs may be helpful if you want to block out background noise.
• If writing on a laptop, make sure it is pre-charged as there may not be power outlets available. Plasterer's Arms does have WiFi, just ask for the passcode when you order your coffee.

Some Important Details:

• We are always easy to find. If you enter the pub on Cowgate, you will likely see a group of people with laptops and notepads at one of the tables! Order a tea, coffee or whatever takes your fancy and come join us!
• Please thank our hosts by purchasing one of their amazing drinks or a snack.
• The event is limited to 12 people as the venue can't host many more than that. If the event is full, drop me a message anyway as you may still be able to fit in.
• If you RSVP and realise you cannot attend, please cancel your RSVP as soon as possible to free the space for another writer.
• Being late is okay! Just show up and get settled. You can always check in with everyone after the session.
