Hawthorne - Gainesville Bike Ride
Details
Sunday, November 23rd, 10am Hawthorne Bike Ride 3300 SE 15th Street, Gainesville, FL. We will be starting our ride at the Hawthorne end of the trail. One way is 15 miles and the trail has hills and winds around quite a bit. It is more difficult than the Baldwin Trail. Paynes Prairie is along the trail and is very scenic. You will see an alligator swamp loaded with the biggest alligators you have ever seen and if lucky, we may see wild horses and bison. This is one of my favorite bike rides due to its beauty and challenge. Any type bike will do as the trail is paved. The trail is surrounded by trees and a variety of wildlife. Please bring plenty of water and a snack to hold you over till we stop for lunch after the ride.
