Celebrate National Public Lands Day with Sierra Club Alaska and Alaska Trails by helping maintain beloved Middle Fork Trail in Chugach.

Volunteers will hike down Powerline to the Middle Fork junction, brushing between the junction and the bridge. There will be some structure repair and gravelling in a turnpike. Hiking will be easy to moderate and no more than 2-3 miles for the day. No experience is necessary, but volunteers should have a minimum ability to hike and work for 6 hours during potentially inclement conditions and on uneven terrain.

Meet us at the Glen Alps Lower Parking Lot at 8:30am. Please RSVP so we can plan properly with gear: https://act.sierraclub.org/events/details?formcampaignid=701Po000015Ans9IAC&mapLinkHref=https://maps.google.com/maps&daddr=National%20Public%20Lands%20Day:%20Trail%20work%20on%20Middle%20Fork@61.103047,-149.68406

What to bring: Rain gear, sturdy work/hiking boots, snacks, water, sunscreen, long work pants, and work gloves and safety glasses if you have them (if you don't have gloves/safety glasses they will be provided for the day).

This work is not suitable for small children or pets.
