Located just across the bay on Dayville Road, this trail offers a classic, lush temperate rainforest trek right on the edge of the harbor area. The path climbs steadily through dense stands of hemlock and spruce, blanketed in thick moss and ferns, running parallel to a rushing gorge. It features well-maintained wooden boardwalks, steps, and handrails to help navigate the steeper sections. The upper observation platform at Solomon Gulch Lake as a phenomenal resting spot, providing panoramic views across Port Valdez and the surrounding peaks before the descent.

Bug Spray, Bear Spray, Sunscreen and water/snacks are encouraged to bring along!
