Pontiac Lake Recreation Area Fall Color Hike
Details
Come enjoy the fall color season with us on our hike at Pontiac Lake Recreation Area. We will have a 4-mile option and a 2-mile option. This trail has some moderate hills, with a few scenic viewpoints overlooking the park. We plan to hike at a leisurely pace.
Please arrive at 12:45 PM for sign in so we can start promptly at 1:00.
State Park entry fee or passport required (you can buy this at the entry booth if you don't already have one).
Directions:
Click on the map attached to this meetup from your phone, then click "directions" to be directed to the specific parking lot where we are meeting.
Or, use these directions:
Take M-59 (Highland Road) to Williams Lake Road, go north 0.6 miles on Williams Lake Road. Make a U-turn to go South on Williams Lake Rd, to get to the Pontiac Lake Recreation Area Park entrance which will be on the right side just after you make the U-turn.
Go straight after the entry booth about 0.4 miles until it ends with a curve to the left (there is a "Hiking Trail" sign pointing towards the left) and drive towards the beach area until the end of the parking lot.
You will arrive near the hiking trailhead and vault and modern bathrooms. Ignore the bike trailhead which is also nearby.
