Holiday Hike at Proud Lake State Recreation Area

Join us for a 3.5 mile hike on trails that wander through a variety of landscapes including forests, marshlands, and parts of the Huron River.
Update Monday 12/22: Trails are very icy in spots. We will update this again Wednesday, but just in case, we recommend you bring ice cleats/spikes/traction. You can buy ice cleats on Amazon, or any sporting goods store, or Costco. We don’t recommend the coil-type grippers as they aren’t as stable on ice and have broken after a season for several of our members.
Please arrive at 12:45 PM for sign in so we can start promptly at 1 PM.
Cost: free, but requires state park entry fee or passport

From I-96 & Wixom Rd, go north on Wixom Rd 7.2 miles (Wixom Rd will jog to left then right), turn right on Park Headquarters Rd (just before "Proud Lake State Recreation Area" sign), go 0.2 miles, see trailhead parking lot on left.
