Adopt a Highway Spring Cleanup #1
Details
Please come take 2 hours of your day to help do something good for the planet!
Everyone who has volunteered with us for past highway cleanup events has always enjoyed the comradery of our friendly group, and the satisfaction of knowing they helped.
We do not go near the freeway or the shoulder of the road, so you don't have to worry about safety.
Our adopted stretch of the I-96 highway in Brighton is in great need of cleaning - we need as much help as we can get to clean up our little part of the planet!
Bring/wear:
- work gloves (a good, sturdy pair)
- long work boots or hiking boots
- long pants (with cinch bottoms or ankle straps if you have them)
- water (we'll keep water in the cars which we will be going back and forth to)
- a "grabber bar" if you have one (we have several to loan)
- a snack (optional)
NOTE: Bags, vests, and bug spray will be provided
We will give you safety instructions and answer any questions before we begin.
We will meet in the parking lot of Lady Jane's Haircuts for Men near Grand River & I-96 in Brighton, then follow each other in a few cars to the highway cleanup locations.
NOTE: THIS IS NOT AN OFFICIAL SIERRA CLUB EVENT; IT IS SPONSORED BY MDOT (MICHIGAN DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION)
