Bird Watching by Boat in the Bayou

Join other avid bird watchers comfortably gliding through Bayou Segnette in Ultimate Swamp Adventures' covered, flat-bottom boat, which will allow you to quietly observe birds along their travels through Louisiana's luxuriant wetlands. Our Cajun captain Nick just happens to be an expert ornithologist who will help point out birds feeding in the plentiful cypress swamp following their marathon flights across the Gulf.

We'll leave the dock by 8 a.m. to maximize opportunities to see a wide variety of birds. Here's a list of birds we saw last year: Black Vultures, Cliff Swallows, a pair of Bald Eagles, a nesting pair of Yellow-Crowned Night Herons, Anhingas (Snakebirds), Gull-billed Terns, multiple Great Blue Herons, Little Blue Herons, Red-winged Blackbirds, Prothonotary Warblers, nesting pair of Osprey, Red-bellied Woodpeckers, Double-crested Cormorant. Also see alligators, raccoons, turtles, and other wildlife in their lush, swamp habitat.
