Walk to Eagle's Nest on levee path in Baton Rouge
Details
Every year, these two eagles return to this nest to raise their young - one or two eaglets. Depending on their development, the eaglet(s) could still be hopping around in the nest or going for short flights, then learning how to land on a branch as their parent(s) quickly make room for the eaglet(s).
The nest is on the batture near Farr Park - about a 1.5 mile walk on the levee path from Skip Bertman Drive to Farr Park.
We will park in the parking lot across from the Vet School at River Road and Skip Bertman Drive, then cross River Road to the levee path.
Please bring binoculars and wear comfortable shoes for walking in high grass in possibly wet areas on the river side of the levee near the nest.
