How Does Your Garden Grow?

Our speaker will be Wendy Rihner who will present on the Louisiana Certified Habitat Program, which recognizes properties for using native plants to support wildlife.

**Doors open at 6:30, program starts at 7pm.**

Rihner is a former Board member of Native Plant Initiative of Greater New Orleans and Wild Ones Pontchartrain Basin which promotes environmentally friendly, sound landscaping to preserve biodiversity through the preservation, restoration, and establishment of native plant communities in the Pontchartrain Basin.

She is an avid and very knowledgeable birder, so she knows well the connection between native plants and healthy habitat, and the importance of providing resources for local wildlife, as wild habitat dwindles. Wendy certified her yard in Metairie in 2020. Wendy also grows and sells native plants, donating proceeds to a local community health provider.
