PFAs are those nasty perfluoroalky and polyfluoroalky substances that are a large group of synthetic chemicals known as “Forever Chemicals” because they do not break down easily in the environment or the human body or other animals. They are contaminating drinking water, soil, fish, & livestock. PFAs are linked to immune system disorders, liver & kidney damage, reproductive issues, & cancers.
Annemieke Tennis, an experienced environmental attorney in New Orleans, will present a program about PFAs, their toxicity & omnipresence. She will discuss the current legal status of PFAs and litigation trends.
The discussion will include a wide variety of interesting topics & current case law.
Ms. Tennis is currently part of a team that represents the state of New Mexico to recover PFAs response costs in a national multidistrict litgation in South Carolina.
