CANCELED Rio Salado (Salt River) Cleanup

Get ready to help clean up the Salt River in South Phoenix. It is a great way to get outdoors while helping care for our local watershed. We hold monthly events picking up trash, pulling weeds and planting native vegetation as well as doing trail maintenance on the Rio Salado Habitat Restoration Area. This month we will work in the area of the 7th Avenue trailhead for invasive species removal and trash pickup. For the first hour we will work on removing trash from the pond. They city has reduced flow into the pond so the water level will be lower, and we will bring waders. After about the first hour, as it starts to get warmer, we will move to the shade under the bridge to remove invasive castor bean plants from the river. The dates for the remainder of the year will be July 13, September 14, October 26, November 9, and December 7. Join us!
