Beat Back Buffelgrass at the Rio Salado

Get ready to help clean up the Salt River in South Phoenix. It is a great way to get outdoors while helping care for our local watershed. We hold monthly events picking up trash, pulling weeds and planting native vegetation as well as doing trail maintenance on the Rio Salado Habitat Restoration Area. In January we participate in the annual Beat Back Buffelgrass! event and focus our efforts on invasive, non-native buffelgrass eradication, and go out on Saturday, instead of our usual Sunday. Tools, gloves, snacks, and a cooler full of ice water will be provided. You will need closed-toed shoes, sunglasses/hat/sunscreen, and a reusable water bottle.
