Verde Water Quality Monitoring TRAINING
Details
Join the Arizona Water Sentinels Program and learn about how you can help monitor water quality on the Verde River. We will meet under the ramadas at Riverfront Park in Cottonwood to discuss our efforts to help manage this priceless ecological gem properly by collecting data. We have been collecting data on the Verde River since 2006. Data collected include numerous parameters: dissolved oxygen, total dissolved solids, conductivity, temperature, and pH. We also collect samples to test for E. coli. No special skills or equipment needed! All ages are welcome. We provide all equipment and training. We meet one Saturday per month, May through October, to collect data. You don't have to commit to participate every time. Data collection takes approximately 2 hours total, including travel time between data collection points. It's fun, easy and a great way to spend some time outdoors, make new friends and give back to the river that gives so much to Arizona. The training will last approximately one hour.
