Environmental Neighborhood Tour, Ward 6, City of Jackson

All are welcome, and residents in the Ward 6 vicinity of the tour are especially encouraged. Family friendly event. Join us for a 5K bike or walk through parts of Jackson's Ward 6 to learn and discuss some current environmental issues including:
• Managing vegetation for environmental benefit and to be a good neighbor;
• “Fix the lagoons” efforts in the neighborhood east of Cascades Park;
• Productive uses of vacant lots;
• Sample wild neighborhood black raspberry treats;
• And learn about the climate action plan being developed by the City of Jackson Environmental Commission.
In case of dangerous weather such as a severe thunderstorm, we will still meet and discuss the topics at the Day residence.
Bring your bike and bike helmet if you have one.
Meet at 733 Beverly Park Place at 6 PM. Tour to begin promptly at 6:30. Time: 6:30-8:30 PM followed byl drinks & conversation at the Day Residence.
Please RSVP by July 18- we will need at least 10 people to make this happen. If we get enough attendance, we will plan a Walk & Talk each month / for each ward.
