Hike to Cross Peak

This is a nice local hike that begins in the Caughlin area where we will walk along a stream and then into a mix of desert and pine forest. The hike is about 4 miles in length roundtrip and has around 600 feet of elevation gain. Most of the gain is where we turn to hike up the peak and this is steep and rocky. I recommend good trail shoes, trekking poles, and at least one Liter of water. Bring a snack to enjoy on or near the peak. Well-mannered dogs are welcome.
