Sonora Pass Ramble

Details
Hike the HIgh Sierra near Sonora Pass. We will take the St. Mary's Pass trail up towards Stanislaus Peak, and back again. It is steep for the first mile, and then we ramble across a plateau at 10,400 feet elevation, through springs and meadows and wild flowers
NB: This hike is not for beginners!
Most of it is above altitude 10,000', and we climb 1000 feet in the first mile.
Bring a lunch, plenty of water and wear sturdy hiking boots.
Distance: 7 miles. Elevation gain up to 1200 ft.
Rated as Moderately Strenuous due to the distance and altitude.
ND (No Dogs).
Waiver & Medical Form
Since this is a Sierra Club hike, we ask you to sign our liability waiver at the trailhead and donate $1 to help cover First Aid Training for all our leaders.
If you want to review the Sierra Club Sign-Up and Participant Agreement in advance, see pages 3-4 at: https://bit.ly/3zN1Jl0
Also, since this hike is to a remote location and carpooling is involved:
All participants must fill out a medical form and give it to the outing leader before embarking on this trip. If you are able to fill out, print, and bring this form with you to the hike, that will save time. The form will be returned to you after the hike. If you can't bring a completed form with you, I will have extra at the trailhead. Here is a link to the:
Sierra Club Medical Form.
Carpooling
From Reno, it is a 2-hour drive each way, so we will meet for carpooling near the Starbucks in the Galena Junction Shopping Center, 18250 Wedge Pkwy, Reno.
If you share a ride, be sure to help the driver out with gas money.
And for those of you who are interested, we will probably stop for dinner at the world famous Mountain View BBQ in Walker.
Leader: Ridge Walker
Co-Leader: Cris G.
