Mountain Meadows Twilight Trek and Star Gazing

Details

Hiking from the TRT trailhead on the nature trails around Mt. Rose Meadows, looking for wildflowers and retiring mountain birds. And then we'll pull out the chairs to watch the summer stars. We hope to see Scorpio, the Summer Triangle, the Milky Way, and Perseids meteor shower. Sunset is at: 7:58p and moonrise will be at 10:00p, so the walking portion will by twilight from 7:30-8:30p, and the star-gazing will be from 8:30-10:00p. Bring your lawn chairs, binoculars, and a picnic dinner.
We will be at 8700 feet elevation, so come prepared for cool temperatures.
Other than that it is a:
Moderately easy hike of 2 mi and 200 ft elevation gain. DL (Dogs limited).

Since this is a Sierra Club hike, we ask you to sign our liability waiver at the trailhead and donate $1 to help cover First Aid Training for all our leaders.
