Galena Falls / Corn Moon Hike

Details
Beat the heat by hiking high in the mountains this evening.
Hike from the Mt. Rose Trailhead to Galena Creek Falls, and looping back via Relay Ridge Road. Days are getting shorter; sunset is at 7:27p, and the Corn Moon will be 92% full and well up in the sky. There should be plenty of moonlight to see by, but flashlights or headlamps are always a good idea in case of cloudiness.
We will be hiking at 9000 feet, so come prepared for temperatures in the 60's.
Moderately difficult due to the altitude. 6 mi and 500 ft elevation gain. DL. Dogs limited.
Since this is a Sierra Club hike, we ask you to sign our liability waiver at the trailhead and donate $1 to help cover First Aid Training for all our leaders.
If you want to review the Sierra Club Sign-Up and Participant Agreement in advance, see pages 3-4 at: https://bit.ly/3zN1Jl0
If you wish to carpool, meet at 5:01p at Starbucks in the Galena Junction Shopping Center, 18250 Wedge Pkwy, Reno.
