Sierra Buttes Day Hike

Early autumn hike from Sierra Buttes trailhead to Sierra Buttes Lookout (8591').
Hiking 6 miles from an altitude of 7000 with elevation gain of 1600 feet.
Good hiking boots and windbreakers are recommended.
Bring a lunch and plenty of water.
Not a beginner's hike! Moderately strenuous difficulty. DL (Dogs limited).

Since this is a Sierra Club hike, we ask you to sign our liability waiver at
the trailhead and donate $1 to help cover First Aid Training for all our leaders.

Also, since this outing is longer than 2 hours and carpooling is involved:
All participants must fill out a medical form and give it to the outing leader before embarking on this trip. If you are able to fill out, print, and bring this form with you to the hike, that will save time. The form will be returned to you after the hike. Carpooling
From Reno, it is a 1-1/2 hour drive each way.
We will meet for carpooling near the Winco in Northtowne Lane shopping center.
If you share a ride, be sure to help the driver out with gas money. And of the way back we are planning on stopping at the The Brewing Lair in Blairsden for rest and refreshment.
