The January program meeting of the Sierra Club Great Basin Group will be on Thursday, Jan. 8, at UNR’s Innevation Center In Reno. The topic: "An Excursion to Greenland and Svalbard," presented by Steve Wheatcraft.
The doors will open at 6:30 for socializing, and the hour-long program will begin at 7 PM. The Innevation Center is located at 450 Sinclair St, Reno, NV 89501.

Steve will speak about his trips to Greenland and Svalbard (Norway). His presentation will include his photographs, maps, and behind-the-scenes images, which together will provide a "sense of place" experience.
Steve Wheatcraft is a Professor Emeritus of Geophysics at the University of Nevada, Reno. He is an amateur photographer who does landscape/nature photography and astrophotography. He has done photography from as far north as Svalbard (about 500 miles from the North Pole) and as far south as Invercargill, New Zealand.
