Day hike to Hole in the Wall and Beyond

Looking for a nice hike without a long drive? This is a great trek up the Tom Cooke Trail to the Steamboat Ditch Trail and then west to Hole in the Wall, and possibly beyond for a bit. The trail should be just about clear of snow and ice, however, wear good trail shoes for possible mud in places. We will have some nice vistas of the surrounding Truckee Meadows and learn about local flora and fauna. This hike will be around 6 miles round trip and 400 feet of elevation gain. Bring lunch or a snack for our midway point and at least 1 Liter of water. Well-behaved dogs are welcome. Leashes are required along the river and across the bridge to the Tom Cooke Trail. Also, doggie water and baggies for poop.

Meet us in the Mayberry Park parking lot at 10:45. We will head out at 11:00 and will return by 3:00 or before.
