Cody will present a brief dive into Nevada soil nutrient balancing to understand the "wants and needs" of the soil to increase nutritional density, water holding capacity, and biological activity. He will cover interpreting soil tests, using composts and soil amendments to balance and increase native Nevada soil nutrient capacity. These concepts can be applied to small and large projects from back-yard gardening to large-scale agriculture.
Cody Witt owns and operates Full Circle Compost in Carson City. Full Circle recycles over 50,000,000 lbs. of organic materials every year. Cody helps create “Full Circle” environmental networks where partners establish a fully sustainable community of suppliers and producers through organic materials recycling, soil fertility program implementation, sustainable food and medicine production, and education. Cody is a fifth-generation Nevada dairy farmer turned composter who earned his undergraduate and graduate degree (MBA) from UNR.
Hope you will be able to join us on 3/12.
