Get in shape with our early Spring weather with a conditioning hike of about 5 miles at a leisurely pace.
Hiking along the Tom Cooke, Steamboat Ditch, and other trails in west Reno. Please remember to "Spring Forward" your clocks by one hour so you will be on time!
Discover trails and learn about nature and geology in and around the Truckee Meadows.

  • Bring snacks; and good hiking boots are recommended.
  • Sunny weather is forecast with temps in the low 60's, so bring water
    and dress in layers!
  • Elevation gain up to 600 ft. Moderate difficulty.
  • DL (Dogs on leash; be advised this is rattlesnake country).
  • Restrooms are NOT available so please plan accordingly-nearest vault toilets are at Mayberry Park which is around the block and out of sight from our meeting place!

Where to meet us: Park on the east side of White Fir St, next to the Patagonia bldg, just north of the bridge over the Truckee River.

Since this is a Sierra Club hike, we ask you to sign our liability waiver at the trailhead and donate $1 to help cover First Aid Training for all our leaders.
