Fall Hike to Picnic Rock - North Lake Tahoe with Photography Tips

This moderate 2 hour (moving time round trip) hike ascends part of the famous Tahoe Rim Trail but is a spur off the trail to a magnificent panoramic view of Lake Tahoe (700 foot gain). We will have about 30-45 minutes at the top to eat a snack and have a mini photo course for those who are interested. Bring your smart phone and learn some easy to remember compositional tips to capture the photos you love. The return trip will take us down the Grif trail through a forest of Jeffrey Pines (smell the butterscotch) and complete a loop return on a less traveled, mostly level dirt road to our starting point. Peaks of the lake the whole way :D
Dogs limited and on leash only please.

What to bring: Plenty of water. We are hiking 4.5 miles from an altitude of 7000 with elevation gain of 700 feet.
Good hiking shoes, a day pack with water, lunch and layers - windbreakers are recommended. Weather can be very different up high.
