Carol and Dave began the restoration of their 1860s farmhouse back in the 1990s. Over the years they have worked on the house as well as the 4-acre property, removing massive amounts of buckthorn, Amur honeysuckle, and lawn while creating beautiful perennial flower beds. But over the years as the world heats up and the loss of habitat accelerates the demise of biodiversity, their focus has changed. Creating a typical garden is no longer a priority; rather the mission has become creating habitat for struggling birds, butterflies, and bees. Everyone can do it in their yards using native plants. Come see the transformation in progress and get motivated to plant a habitat in your own space.
