Explore the Megunticook Lake Islands by kayak

Details

Join us as we paddle beautiful Megunticook Lake, launching at Barrett's Cove.
We will paddle around several of the forested islands, including mysteriously named Fang's Island. We may take a look at the balancing rock on Fernald's Neck if we have time.
There is sufficient parking where we launch at:
Barrett's Cove, 104 Beaucaire Ave, Camden.

Just Googlemap it.
Beaucaire Ave is right across from the entrance to
Maiden Cliff trailhead.
There are clean porta potties available.

This outing is for intermediate paddlers in good physical condition possessing basic paddling skills (American Canoe Association level 1). Attendees must sign a Sierra Club waiver at the launch to join this event.

Dress sensibly for the environment. Layer your clothing relative to temperature, wearing wool and synthetics. Cotton does not retain warmth when wet.
Bring a hat, something to drink and a snack.
We will paddle at a moderate pace. Arrive at 9:00 am, we will begin the paddle at 9:30 am. Wearing your PFD with a whistle is required.
This outing will be about 3 hours in duration.
You must bring your own equipment. All kayaks must be at least 10 feet long and must have their own flotation capability.
