Wompatuck Walk & PFAS Advocacy in MA

Details
Join us for a walk in beautiful Wompatuck State park to learn some basics about PFAS (forever chemicals) in MA and ways to take action! We will walk an initial loop of just under two miles with minimal elevation gain/loss into neighboring Triphammer Woods. After a bathroom break, there is an option for another loop of ~4.6 miles (with a gentle 163 ft of ascent) passing 2 more beautiful ponds and Aaron River reservoir in Wompatuck. Meet new people and enjoy a beautiful place; the second loop will be more of a standard walk where we take time to get to know each other.
Sierra Club Massachusetts is a part of the Alliance for a Healthy Tomorrow coalition, which focuses on reducing toxic chemicals in consumer products. Educating and engaging MA residents in the fight for a safer tomorrow. Professor Lindsay Tallon from Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences is one of the coalition members who will join us to speak about the health impacts of PFAS. Professor Tallon is one of the researchers collaborating on the PFAS Project Lab.
Wompatuck state park has ample free parking, bathrooms, and generally gentle trails. Exact meet-up location will be sent to those who register ahead.
