Blue Hills: PFAS Educational Outing!

Details
Join us on Saturday September 13th, 2025 in the beautiful Blue Hills to learn about PFAS (forever chemicals) in MA and ways to take action! We will walk an initial loop of about a mile around Houghton Pond with minimal elevation gain and loss pausing along the way to talk about PFAS advocacy. We will return to the visitor center for a bathroom break at this point, and say goodbye to anyone who would like to take off. Those who would like to continue will hike together for an additional 2.3 miles with around 570ft of elevation gain and loss to Eliot Tower and back. Please register here as well to fill out our virtual waiver.
Sierra Club Massachusetts is a part of the Alliance for a Healthy Tomorrow coalition, which focuses on reducing toxic chemicals in consumer products. Educating and engaging MA residents in the fight for a safer tomorrow. Professor Lindsay Tallon from Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences is one of the coalition members who will join us to speak about the health impacts of PFAS. Professor Tallon is one of the researchers collaborating on the PFAS Project Lab.
