Concord's Great Meadows Walk with Stop Private Jet Expansion!

Join us for a walk at the Concord Unit of Great Meadows National Wildlife Refuge with Stop Private Jet Expansion at Hanscom or Anywhere! Great Meadows in Concord is under the flight path of Hanscom Field Civil Airport, where a large private jet expansion is being proposed which would add approximately 6,000 additionally flights annually. We will enjoy the refuge and hear about SPJE’s current actions that would help protect this beautiful space from increased jet activity. We will walk from just under 2 miles with minimal elevation gain and loss around the lower impoundment. The entry fee to the National Wildlife Refuge will be covered by the organizers with a group pass.
Peter Alden will join us to share his knowledge of the birds and flora and history of Great Meadows! Peter Alden is a world renowned naturalist, lecturer, ecotourism guide and author of 15 books on North American and African wildlife, including the National Audubon Society’s Regional Field Guide Series.
