Sierra Club Monthly Meeting - The Cadiz Water Scheme

Details

Join us at the Sierra Club's monthly meeting.

Despite 30 years of failure, Cadiz Inc. still hopes to drill for water under sensitive public lands in our arid California Deserts near Joshua Tree National Park. Cadiz would pull out 50,000 acre-feet of water each year, lowering desert aquifers and killing off critters like the desert bighorn sheep.

Cadiz's newest strategy: pretending to be a social justice warrior who wants to bring water to underserved communities in the San Bernardino County.

Our speaker, John Monsen, has been fighting Cadiz for seven years, with great success in preventing its water scheme from going forward.

The Mojave Group meets at the Sterling Inn, 17738 Francesca Rd, Victorville, CA 92395 (just off Ridgecrest Road, one block north of Bear Valley Rd).

NOTE: we are meeting in a NEW room: the Media Room. It is at the north end of the building. Easiest entry is off Lindero St; park near the NORTH side and enter at the entrance with the overhead carport (near the covered parking area). Refreshments will also be served.
