With September being Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, this event has been organized to increase awareness and funding for this devastating disease. We will hike approximately three miles along the beautiful trails of Hanna Park. The trail is pretty narrow with some minor elevation changes. Please be at the meeting place at Parking Lot #8 at 9:15 to allow time for pre-hike activities.
You are required to complete a Participant Agreement. We strongly encourage you to complete the agreement online to save time at the beginning of the outing.

If you do not sign online, a paper form will be available at the meeting place.
Restrooms available. Bring, water and insect repellent*. There is a $5.00 admission fee per carload to enter the park. Please, no pets. Kids capable of a three mile hike at an adult pace are welcome.
DIRECTIONS: To get to the park located at 500 Wonderwood Dr, Jacksonville, 32233, take Monument Rd east from I-295, then turn right on McCormick/Wonderwood until you come to the park entrance at the intersection Wonderwood Dr and Old Mayport Rd.
We will meet in the Beach Access Parking Lot 8, 0.6 miles past the entrance station. After entering and paying, proceed straight. You will pass a green sign for Lots 6 and 7. Continue to the next stop sign and turn left. Go straight up to the Parking Lot #8 by the beach.
After the hike, you can take full advantage of Hanna Park by strolling the beach, renting a kayak or canoe, or riding the biking trails.
Cancellation Policy: Event will be held rain or shine, but may be cancelled if weather threatens safety such as in the case of lightning or high winds in the forecast. Also, if the heat index is forecast to be over 103, then the outing will be cancelled. Participants are advised to check Meetup for current status before traveling to the event. Events may need to be cancelled at short notice.
* Help the environment by following these tips:
- Bring your water in a reusable container instead of a single-use plastic bottle
- Use sunscreen free of oxybenzone and octinoxate. These chemicals are extremely harmful to coral reefs, as well as being hormone disruptors in humans.
