This is a Sierra Club Military Outdoors event - a joint Sierra Club Northeast Florida and YMCA outing - FOR ACTIVE AND FORMER MILITARY AND THEIR FAMILIES ONLY.
We’ll hike the trails of the Sawmill Slough Preserve at the University of North Florida Wildlife Sanctuary and pass through upland pines, turkey-oak woodlands and cypress swamps. We will hike for about 4 miles.

We will have a sandwiches&chips lunch after the hike at the picnic area.

Bring repellent and water. Children capable of hiking for 3-4 miles are welcome. No pets (service dogs OK). Restrooms at trailhead. Your parking fee will be paid for.
Meet in the parking lot of the UNF Parking Services Building/Outdoor Center near the west entrance to UNF about a half mile east of the I-295 East Beltway. This is the entrance that continues east from Town Center Road. You’ll see a Parking Services building on your right, turn there.
