Riverside Park Invasive Plant Cleanup
Details
Please join your NEFL Sierra Club, Audubon and the City Parks Dept for the second invasive plant cleanup of this area in Riverside Park. We will be removing the invasive plants that have popped up since our last removal. Invasive plants push out native plants removing the food source that wildlife rely upon.
Bring gloves and refillable water bottle.
Since we last were there, the city has planted native understory trees to provide that food and cover that was missing. This second removal of invasives will clear the area for the next phase of the project which will be planting native ground covers and shrubs.
Come see the improvements to date and help us prepare the site for more improvements to come! This is a good way to learn about the invasive plants that are hurting our wildlife and the native plants that will help them that you can put in your own yards!
