Leaving from Santa Fe, We will visit the western part of the Wild Rivers section of the Rio Grande del Norte National Monument, it's a 2 1/2 hour drive from Santa Fe, 5 mile round trip to the summit, with 1,340 feet of elevation gain. Given the last hour of access is dirt road, if it is too muddy, the hike will occur on the following Saturday October 4. Alan Shapiro will be joined by Del DuBois, a retired BLM archeologist, and John Buchser to lead that expedition. Given the long driving time, it will be a long day.

Bring: water, lunch, raingear, warm clothes
No cost except for gas if carpooling
