Great News! The Southern Nevada Group of the Sierra Club has officially joined the DOT "Adopt-a-Highway" program! "Our" section of highway is between mile markers 11 and 13 on the east bound side of State Route 157 (aka "Kyle Canyon Road"). This will be our first official clean-up there; we plan on doing them at least quarterly. Yes, we know there is a big football game scheduled for later that day, so come out early to get some fresh air and a little exercise! We will be done in plenty of time for you to get home and get the snacks for kickoff!

We will meet at 10 am in the parking lot at the Smith's on Sky Canyon Road. The leader will distribute supplies there and give instructions. You can talk with each other about car pooling up the mountain (The Sierra Club does not officially organize car pools) or just caravan up with us. Anywhere you wish to park along that section of road is fine. We will provide reflective safety vests, garbage bags, grabbers, and some gloves. If you have good work gloves please bring your own, along with water and a thermos with a hot drink if appropriate. Dress for the weather. Heavy rain or snow will cancel. The DOT will come by later to collect the full garbage bags that we will leave by the road, so you don't have to carry any trash home. (We will consolidate the bags so that they left in just a few locations along the highway).

Come help us keep Nevada Beautiful! All are welcome, whether members or not!
