Adopt-a-Highway Cleanup on Kyle Canyon Rd!
Details
Great News! The Southern Nevada Group of the Sierra Club has officially joined the DOT "Adopt-a-Highway" program! "Our" section of highway is between mile markers 11 and 13 on the east bound side of State Route 157 (aka "Kyle Canyon Road"). This will be our second quarterly clean up there! Come help us end Earth Month right by keeping our precious public lands clean!.
We will meet at 8:45 am in the parking lot of the Sky Canyon (Smith's) shopping center on Sky Canyon Road. Look for the leader's pearl-colored Prius parked near the Chase Bank. The leader will distribute supplies there and give instructions. You can talk with each other about car pooling up the mountain (The Sierra Club does not officially organize car pools) or just caravan up with us. We will provide reflective safety vests, garbage bags, grabbers, and some gloves. If you have good work gloves please bring your own, along with water, hat and suncreen. Dress for the weather. Heavy rain will cancel. The DOT will come by later to collect the full garbage bags that we will leave by the road, so you don't have to carry any trash home. (We will consolidate the bags so that they left in just a few locations along the highway).
Come help us keep Nevada Beautiful! All are welcome, whether members or not! (Rescheduled from the original April date; hope you will join us!)
