Join us for a slow, guided walk through the Bell Preserve — one of our region's finest sandhills ecosystems. We'll move with intention through this fire-shaped landscape, reading the soil, terrain, and plant communities as a living story. Along the way, we'll meet native species like the Bachman's sparrow, explore their ecological roles, and consider the cultural threads woven into this land.
Everyone is welcome - whether you're a seasoned naturalist or simply someone who loves being outside, join us.

What to expect:

  • A relaxed pace with frequent stops
  • Plant and wildlife identification
  • Ecological context — how fire, soil, and terrain shape sandhill communities
  • Moments of quiet observation

Wear comfortable walking shoes, sun protection, and bring water. All experience levels welcome.

The trip will be led by Tim Martin, a Florida Master Naturalist and Contemplative Naturalist guide who leads walks at the intersection of ecology and mindfulness.
