Loring Bullard presents his new book, An Environmental Journey

Details
Join the White River Group of the Sierra Club on Tuesday, June 3rd,
6:30 p.m. in the Frisco Community Room at Library Station, 2535 North
Kansas Expressway when we welcome local author and
environmental leader Loring Bullard.
Loring will take us on An Environmental Journey and discuss with
us his recently published book of the same name.
Being an environmentalist wasn't always easy for Loring, a "tree-hugger"
in the conservative Midwest. Early on, inspired by Rachel Carson's book
The Sea Around Us, Loring wanted to become a marine biologist. And
though that did not happen, his working career centered around
environmental themes.
An Environmental Journey is a quick look at Missouri's environmental
history and how his life and work intersected with some of our state's
biggest environmental challenges - nuclear weapons testing, coal burning,
dioxin. He will describe a few of the tragedies in detail as well as offer
some potential solutions for the future. Our environmental problems often
seem insurmountable, but there is reason for hope.
Please join us. This program is FREE and OPEN to the PUBLIC
