Looking forward to meeting fellow hikers.

Hi all, we have the full complement of hikers for this event. Thanks again for joining and looking forward to having a great hike and meet everyone.
Logistics for the event.
May 24th at 4PM - Meet at Livermore Park and Ride (https://maps.app.goo.gl/Ha46V8HpCKB71QCDA). We plan to car pool (max 2 - 3 cars). If you are planning to stay longer in the Tahoe area, please plan on brining your own car. We can park additional cars in the South Lake Tahoe Public Parking (overnight allowed)
May 24th at 8-9PM - Arrive at Camp Richardson Campsite (https://maps.app.goo.gl/FXG7yd5En9ZocWwZ7). I have made reservation for 2 Car, 4 tent and max 16 ppl campsite. We are 8 people in the group so we need to share tents. I can bring a 4 man tent in addition to the 2 man tent that I carry in my backpack.
May 25th at 8AM - Plan on early start to the hike (https://www.alltrails.com/trail/us/california/granite-lake-dicks-lake-velma-lake-and-eagle-lake-loop)
The trail is rated Hard in All Trails but that is if you are doing it in a single day. Please review the details of the trails in All Trails. We plan to hike 6-7 miles on day 1 with elevation gain of 1600 ft, depending on where we camp for the night. There are plenty of options at Lower Velma, Upper Velma, Dicks Lake etc. You can bring your own tent on the hike. It should not be a strenuous hike, but we might encounter some snow and icy patches at higher elevations in May.
May 26h at 8AM - Break camp and start hike back to Fallen leaf trailhead parking
Second day should be an easy hike. Depending on how the team is doing we can extend and do Maggie Peak which is a very popular hike along the way. We will plan to reach parking lot by 2-3PM and drive back to Bay Area.
Things to bring
1. Tent
2. Sleeping bag (rated for 30 deg F)
3. Sleeping pad (believe me you will sleep a lot better with one)
4. Camping stove, cooking pans and fuel( I will bring one and we can share if we 2-3. Not everyone need to bring a stove and fuel
5. Lighter, waterproof matches, and headlights - Always good to carry these for safety.
6. Hiking Poles (if you use them)
7. Compass, and Whistle (always safe to carry one with you).
8. Bear spray and Bear proof food canisters (I will bring one and we can share if needed)
9. GPS device ( I will carry my Garmin and I can share the weblink if you want to share it with family members so that they can be aware of your location and safety)
10. Food (please note that freeze dried foods takes longer to cook at higher altitudes). We can plan on prepared food such as sandwiches, pizza etc for lunch and cook only for dinners.
I would greatly appreciate it if everyone can share either their phone number or email. It would greatly facilitate coordination before and during the hike.
Thanks again
Sowmi
