Challenging Overnight Hike in the Sequoia National Park. It is in the High Sierra with plenty of opportunity to see wild life including bears in the summer. Also presents the opportunity to visit the Giant Redwoods in the area (General Sherman etc.)
30.1-mile out-and-back trail near Hartland, California. Generally considered a challenging route, it takes an average of 15 h 8 min to complete. This trail is great for backpacking, camping, and fishing, and it's unlikely you'll encounter many other people while exploring.

Friday 4PM - Gather in Carpool area in East Bay and drive to Fresno/Clover with Overnight stay in that area
Sat 6 - 7AM - Drive to trail head and start the hike by 9AM with overnight camping in Hamilton Lake
Sunday 7 AM - Hike back to trail head and reach trail head by 4-5 PM. Drive back to Bay Area (should take 4-5hrs)
