High Sierra- Mount Dana Climb (Yosemite Tioga Pass)

Details
Hike/Climb Mount Dana (13,030 ft) nearYosemite Tioga Pass East gate. It is a fairly challenging day hike with 3000 ft elevation gain and with a bit of rock scrambling as we approach the summit and some exposure. Good to have good head for heights.

The trail head is just outside the Tiogo pass entrance on the East Side (Inyo National Forest) and we won't need Yosemite Park permit. We will take the Sonora Pass and approach the trail from the Mono lake side.
The summit offers excellent views of Mono Lake and entire East Sierra area. The summit is sometimes covered in Snow even in July/Aug. So bring microspikes if you have them.
Sat 8AM - Meet in East Bay Park & Ride and drive to Yosemite. Overnight camp in Tioga Lake (next to the trail head).
Sun 7AM - Early start to the hike (lower sections can be warm so best to do it early in the morning.
Sun 4PM - Finish hike and reach trailhead by 4PM and drive back Bay Area (4-5 hrs)
