What we’re about
Sierra Nevada Peaks is a community for hikers who are drawn to the challenge, beauty, and spirit of the Eastern Sierra. Our focus is on exploring the region’s most significant and recognizable summits — from iconic 13ers and 14ers to lesser-known but equally inspiring peaks from the SPS list.
This group is for people who love the adventure of high-elevation hiking and want to share it with others. Whether you’re chasing your first major Sierra summit or you’re an experienced peak-bagger, you’ll find like-minded hikers who value preparation, safety, and camaraderie on the trail. Our hikes will range from strenuous day climbs to longer outings that may include camping near the trailhead or in alpine basins.
Expect early mornings, challenging mileage, and rewarding views. Each outing will be organized with clear details about distance, elevation gain, technical difficulty, and gear requirements, so participants know what to expect and can prepare responsibly. We’ll emphasize Leave No Trace principles and respect for the wilderness, ensuring that the beauty of the Sierra Nevada remains unspoiled for those who come after us.
More than just hiking, Sierra Nevada Peaks is about connection — with the mountains, with each other, and with the sense of accomplishment that comes from standing on a summit you’ve worked hard to reach. If you’re ready to lace up your boots, breathe the thin alpine air, and experience some of the most breathtaking peaks in California, this group is for you.
And as a bonus, unlike other peak-focused hiking groups, we do not tolerate corporate spam or events that require you to pay money or RSVP on a different site. We are an organically created group that is focused on community and free access to the outdoors.
