Picnic: Fabulous Food and Fun!

Sierra Pathfinders –
Get ready to hang out, munch, and play games with hiking friends. Here are all the picnic details:

When: Saturday, June 14, 2025, 12:00 – 4:00 pm

Where: Villa Maria group site at Stevens Creek County Park, 11401 Stevens Canyon Rd., Cupertino

You’re welcome to sign up here on Meetup. If you got an Evite, that’s another option. One or the other is sufficient.

The cost is $10 ahead of time and $15 at the picnic. You have two options for paying the $10. fee, either by sending a check to Suzanne Fellenz (made out to ‘Singleaires’) or by sending a payment to her PayPal account. For checks, her mailing address is 5010 Montreal Dr., San Jose 95130. For the PayPal app, send $$ to Suzanne Fellenz. To help the committee plan appropriately, please sign up and send payment by June 10. As mentioned above, at the picnic the fee will be $15, cash only.

What to bring: The picnic committee is supplying pinwheel sandwiches and some salads. In semi-potluck tradition, each person should bring a food item that serves 8-10. It needs to be ready to serve, since we have no back-up kitchen for prep. According to your last name, please bring the designated item:
A-F: Appetizer or salad
G-M: Drinks – beer and wine OK. Water will be available, too.
N-Z: Dessert

Games: Water balloon toss, Beach ball volleyball, possibly others

Directions: From Hwy 85 N, take the Stevens Creek Blvd exit and head west for 1.1 miles. Turn left at S Foothill Blvd, which becomes Stevens Canyon Rd. After 1.3 miles the park will be on your left. Unless you have an annual park pass, stop at the Chestnut area to pay the $6 park fee. Then return to the park road, turn left, and soon thereafter veer left up the hill to the picnic site.
From Hwy 85 S, take the Foothill Expwy exit toward Grant Rd. and head south on Foothill Blvd., which becomes Steven Canyon Rd., for 2.0 miles. The park will be on your left. Continue as above.
