Volunteer Service Day at Santa Clara River Preserve

Details

Spring means flowers and a volunteer service day at the new Santa Clara River Preserve. The preserve is owned by The Nature Conservancy and contains a couple miles flat trails, vast areas of native plant and animal restoration, and a place to experience the river itself.

Spring also means weeds to remove! No experience necessary, you will learn the native and non-native species quickly. Work time from 9am-11am (for 2 hours). Stay after to explore the preserve trails.

Meet at the amphitheater (not the parking lot).

Wear:
long pants to protect from ticks or thorns
closed shoes that can get dirty
a hat and other sun protection

Bring:
A reusable filled water bottle
Refreshments for yourself

Optional:
Bring gardening gloves and hand tools, a limited number of tools may be available to lend.
Binoculars for birding or other wildlife spotting

Kids welcome accompanied by adult at all times. No dogs please. ALL PARTICIPANTS MUST SIGN BOTH A SIERRA CLUB AND NATURE CONSERVANCY WAIVER.

Rain, even light rain, cancels. Check status if the Preserve is open due to weather at Preserve Website
