Backpack in the Joyce Kilmer Wilderness

We meet at my house at 7 AM and carpool to the trailhead. Joyce Kilmer is in North Carolina, south of Knoxville.
The hike is for experienced hikers only. There are some very rugged trails.
We will start at about 5000' and climb 500' and from there it is basically downhill. We hike 4 days, returning on Monday afternoon.
If we have time, we will visit the Joyce Kilmer Memorial Forest. The trees in this grove have never been logged. The Poplar trees are 8' in diameter.
