What will happen when the economy, energy use, and human population, all stop growing? Most Americans think that growth is essential for their well-being. They worry about the dangers of stagnation. Others believe that unrestrained growth on a finite planet is the root of all that ails us. This debate pits flawed conventional economics against ecological constraints.
Whether you think it's good or bad, we know that infinite growth on a finite planet is impossible. A “Post-Growth” economy prioritizes human well-being, ecological sustainability, and equitable resource distribution, over growth.
