TRIP IS CLOSED. APPLICATIONS NO LONGER ACCEPTED
+++++++++++++++++++++
Jersey and Guernsey, which includes Sark, are British island dependencies (“bailiwicks”) in the English Channel, tucked in close to the French coast. Although small geographically, they are huge in terms of scenic beauty, charm, history…and hiking possibilities! We’ll spend a full week discovering just what makes them so special. Is it rugged terrain, gorgeous beaches, charming villages, delicious food, relaxed lifestyle, endearing quirkiness, starry nights, spectacular sunrises & sunsets? All of that and so much more!

Highlights include:

  • Three nights on Jersey
  • Coastal cliffs, Grève de Lecq, Bouley Bay, Rozel Bay
  • La Hougue Bie burial mound, Mont Orgueil Castle
  • La Corbière & lighthouse
  • Jersey War Tunnels, St. Aubin village
  • World famous Jersey Zoo
  • Four nights on Guernsey
  • Sausmarez Manor & Garden
  • Fermain Bay, St. Martins Point, Moulin Huet Bay
  • L'Erée (Lihou Island), Fort Grey (Martello tower)
  • St. Saviour Church, Little Chapel
  • Home of Victor Hugo
  • Hiking on Sark (no horseless carriages)

Getting to/from the islands is easiest from England by air or sea, although there are also connections from/to France. Options for getting to Jersey are here and options for returning from Guernsey (air or sea) are here. This means that extending your trip (before or after) to stay in London or Paris, for example, would be quite convenient and a good idea. Bob’s your uncle!
